SUBJECT: Counterfeit Cashier's Checks

Summary: Counterfeit cashier's checks bearing the name Central Bank, Springville, Utah, are reportedly in circulation.

Central Bank, Springville, Utah, has contacted the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) to report that counterfeit cashier's checks bearing the institution's name are in circulation.

The counterfeit items display the routing number 124300327, which is assigned to Central Bank. The items also display a lock symbol near the right edge and the wording "To the order of" in the bottom-left corner. The items are printed on green check stock with the bank's "cb" logo printed in black ink.

Authentic checks are printed on white check stock. Security wording is embedded within the top border.

Copies of a counterfeit item and an authentic check (VOID) are attached for your review. Be aware that the appearance of counterfeit items can be modified and that additional variations may be presented.
