I have almost been scammed by two people in Africa just this week alone. The first person I was referred to by someone claiming to be in the US. She posted an ad in our local newspaper that reads: ENGLISH BULLDOGS $500 PLEASE CALL 201-795-8201 OR EMAIL MRSMARTMARY@YAHOO.COM FOR MORE INFO. She claims she sold her last dog to someone in Las Angeles, California. Her phone is always busy. Anyway, I emailed the person and he came back and said he was sent over the for missionary work and the conditions are conducive for his animal to stay there. He sent pics along with the email. After reasearching thoroughly we found there are about 22 people with his last name in New York and New Jersey. He goes by Rev. (DR.) Michael Adewunmi. His email address is revadmic@yahoo.com. He claims the dog's name is Dolly. He wants you to wire the money vis Western Union ASAP so he can get all the paperwork together to send the dog. We never sent the money because after looking into it, we found the pics he emailed us are also posted on other websites.

The next person is one that goes by the name Fred Maxime AKA MBATCHOU J.P. He claims to be from Greensboro, North Carolina and has recently been relocated to Rep Of Cameroon. He says his children are raising the dogs, with 10 years of experience. He says he is going to pay all shipping cost and only wants $250 for the dog. He seds pics, but they too are listed on several other sites. He sent us tracking information and everything. He claims the pup was being sent via Cameroon Pet Shipping agency. The webpage is cameroonpetshipping.tripod.com

and their E-mail address is:cameroonpetsshippingagency@yahoo.com. He claims the dog is being shipped straight to our local airport on a non-stop flight from France. We called our local airport and found they have never had any flights from France to Florence, South Carolina whatsoever. Also, this is a regional airport and the runways are not big enought for cargo planes. We received an email from Mr. Maxime stating he had contacted the Frace shipping company and told them to hold the dog because we had not followed the agreement by paying him after he supplied us with the shipping information. We are very fortunate that we didn't lose money. Thank you for the website that has the Black List of scammers emails. We have found several on it that claim to be in North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia. I work too hard for what I have and am not about to let anyone scam me out of my money.

Please remember it is NOT the Names, Emails or the Phone numbers (those can be made up at anytime). It is the method of conducting business.

DO NOT rely on any "black list". Pay attention:

Wired money by bank or western union will not be refunded

It is NOT easy to import any animal and some like monkeys cannot be imported.

You should really buy pets locally where you can meet them before you take them home.

If you must order, you MUST independently VERIFY the legitimacy of the seller. You must make sure you pay by means that you can dispute the payment ie: by credit card.

If you are selling something, never accept an over payment and refund the different. NEVER NEVER NEVER not for any reason.

Remember the fraudsters are skilled at making sales pitches and excuses. Don't believe anything you can't indendepently verify.

Never buy an animal that will be shipped without personally talking to the U.S. Customs Service AND the actual airlines that will be transporting the animal.
